Rebels Jump Out Of Conference To Face Central Arkansas

OXFORD, Miss. - After starting SEC play last weekend, the Ole Miss softball team will jump back out of conference play on Wednesday when the Rebels will travel to Conway, Ark., to face Central Arkansas. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Farris Field.
Ole Miss dropped all three games to open conference play last weekend at South Carolina. The Rebels are led at the plate by sophomore Brittany Broome, who boasts a .379 batting average, while senior Brittany Barnhill has a team-high three home runs and 15 RBI. Senior Lindsey Perry paces the Rebels in the circle with a 6-3 mark and a 2.48 ERA.
Central Arkansas is 10-13 overall and 3-3 in the Southland Conference. Sophomore Melanie Bryant leads the Bears with a .466 batting average, six home runs and 19 RBI on the season, while sophomore Kelsie Armstrong has posted a team-high seven wins and a 1.91 ERA in the circle.
Ole Miss leads the all-time series 5-0 over Central Arkansas including taking both games in the series last season. The Rebels will return home again this weekend when they welcome No. 1 Florida to Oxford for a three-game SEC series. The first game is set for Friday at 5 p.m.
