OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss head football coach Houston Nutt, his mother Emogene and his brother Danny will be hosting a social for members of the local deaf community Tuesday.

Emogene Nutt will be speaking to the group as well as the University's Communicative Disorders Department at 1:30 p.m. at the IPF Banquet Room, and at 5 p.m., the guests are invited to attend Ole Miss' spring football practice and tour the Indoor Practice Facility.

The hearing-impaired have always been close to the hearts of the Nutt family. Emogene and the late Houston Sr., spent 35 years teaching young people at the Arkansas School for the Deaf in Little Rock. Houston Nutt Sr., a 2001 inductee into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, also served as athletics director and head basketball coach.

The Nutt brothers are skilled in sign language, and Houston and Danny recently visited and shared with a Communicative Disorders class on campus.
