THIS WEEK FOR OLE MISS:
Ole Miss will continue to play on the road this week with a midweek contest at Southern Miss on Wednesday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. The Rebels will then head south to Baton Rouge for a three-game series at LSU. Friday's game begins at 7:00 p.m., while Saturday's game will be on Cox Sports at 6:30 p.m. Sunday's contest is set for a 1:00 p.m. first pitch.
NEXT WEEK FOR THE REBELS:
The Rebels close out an eight game road swing on Tuesday night at AutoZone Park when Ole Miss takes on Memphis at 6:30 p.m. The Rebels then return home for a three-game series in conference play as Ole Miss will host the Georgia Bulldogs at O-U Stadium/Swayze Field. Friday's game is set for 6:30 p.m., while Saturday's game is at 2 p.m. on SportSouth. Sunday's game starts at 1:30 p.m.
PROBABLE PITCHING MATCH-UPS:

NOTING TRACY: Senior left-hander Matt Tracy makes his sixth start of the season and seventh appearance when he takes the mound against Southern Miss on Wednesday night. Tracy is coming off a solid outing last week against Samford in which the southpaw combined for a shutout of the Bulldogs in a 3-0 midweek win. Tracy is tied for the team lead in strikeouts with 35 to date and 3-1 record with a 3.38 ERA through six appearances.
A LOOK AT SOUTHERN MISS:
The Golden Eagles of Southern Miss enter the midweek contest with an overall record of 18-5 and are ranked 20th nationally after posting series win over No. 23 Tulane this past weekend. As a team, the Golden Eagles are hitting at a .317 clip and are led at the plate by Adam Doleac with a .378 average. B.A. Vollmuth leads the run production with nine home runs and 29 RBI on the year and is hitting at a .355 clip. The Southern Miss pitching staff holds a 3.39 ERA and have struck out 151 batters while walking 88 and allowing 98 runs on 181 hits. Boomer Scarborough will make his third start of the year and holds a 1-0 record with a 1.12 ERA in 16.0 innings of work. He has struck out 12 batters and walked five while holding batters to a .193 batting average against.
OLE MISS VS. SOUTHERN MISS:
Ole Miss and Southern Miss have faced off 110 times in the history of the two programs with the Rebels holding a 70-40 lead in the all-time series. Ole Miss posted a sweep of the two meetings with the Golden Eagles last season, taking the game at Trustmark Park 11-6 before winning the game in Oxford 7-2.
SOME HAVE HIT STREAKS ON THE LINE:
Three Rebels hold hit streaks of more than one game heading into the weekend's series against Tennessee. Matt Smith leads the way with a 10-game hit streak, while Tanner Mathis has hit safely in eight consecutive games. Taylor Hightower (6) and Alex Yarbrough (6) are right behind them on the list.
OTHERS KEEP REACHING BASE:
While hit streaks are an eye-catching stat, an often overlooked stat is reaching base. Tanner Mathis (14) leads the team in consecutive games reaching base, while Matt Smith (10) are right behind him. Taylor Hightower has reached base safely in eight straight games played. Mathis' 14 game streak of reachign base is the longest on the team this season.
