AUBURN, Ala. - Mike Granger won the 100 meters and Caleb Lee took the long jump title to lead the Rebel track team at the War Eagle Invitational on Saturday.

Granger, a sophomore who came into the meet ranked 10th in the nation in the 100 meters, took the sprint crown in Auburn with a time of 10.49 in the finals. Senior Jonathan Juin came in fourth with a time of 10.60. In the preliminaries, the duo finished 1-2 with Granger posting a time of 10.36 and Juin 10.38. Granger's best time of the year is 10.22.

Entering the weekend 11th in the nation in the long jump, Lee jumped a personal-best 25-06.00 to beat all other competitors in Auburn. The junior now ranks eighth in school history in the event.

Also standing out on the men's side were the Rebel 400 meter hurdlers. Ole Miss had three of the top eight finishers in the event, led by senior Lee Ellis Moore's second-place showing at 50.29. Junior Carson Blanks came in third at 50.50, and junior Ras-Len Bully crossed the line in eighth with a personal-best 52.39. Moore and Blanks came into the meet ranked fourth and eighth in the country, respectively.

The men's 4x400 meter relay team, which ranks top 10 nationally, dropped the baton during its race before picking it up and finishing in sixth place.

A pair of senior throwers led the way for the Rebel women. Juliana Smith and Betty Williams both entered the weekend ranked top 10 in the nation in their events, and they did not disappoint.

Smith placed third in the hammer throw with a distance of 200-07 that is just off her school-record mark of 202-11 set earlier this year at the Florida Pepsi Relays.

Williams finished third in the discus with a throw of 171-05, which is just off her school record toss of 176-11 set earlier this year at the SEC/Big Ten Challenge.

Also performing well was Kristin Bridges in the 400 meters. The junior who entered the meet ranked 20th in the nation, crossed the finish line in a personal-best 53.55 to place third. She ranks fifth-best in the event in school history.

Long-distance runner Katie Breathitt, who used to play soccer for the Rebels, won the 5,000 meter open race with a time of 17:21.67 that ranks her second in school history in the event.

Aria Gaines placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 41-02.50 that was just shy of her personal-best leap of 41-06.50 that ranks her top-five in the event in school history.

"We had some good performances this meet, but not the quality of effort we showed last week," Ole Miss head coach Joe Walker said. "We will be working hard as we prepare for our second home meet this next weekend."

Ole Miss returns to the track this Saturday and Sunday when the Rebels host the Mississippi Open. Most of the events will take place Saturday between 9 a.m. and 7:40 p.m., while part of the women's heptathlon is scheduled to conclude Sunday morning.
