BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss women's tennis players Kristi Boxx and Connor Vogel earned All-SEC honors as the conference's yearly awards were announced by the league office Tuesday.

A native of Grenada, Miss., Boxx earned first team honors for the third year in a row. With her third such honor, she becomes the second women's tennis player at Ole Miss to make first team three years. She is in select company with former four-time All-American Paloma Collantes, who earned first team honors all four years of her career.

Boxx owns a 20-11 overall record, 9-6 in dual matches. She went 5-4 in the SEC, missing two matches due to a death in the family.

Vogel earned All-SEC honors for the second year in a row, making the second team. The senior from Germantown, Tenn., owns a 25-16 overall record, 12-8 in dual matches. She went 5-5 in the SEC playing mostly No. 2 singles and two matches at No. 1.

Both Boxx and Vogel were among several Rebels dealing with injuries all season.

"This is a great honor for both Kristi and Connor," head coach Mark Beyers said. "This conference is so incredibly strong. Anytime you make first or second team All-SEC it's a tremendous accomplishment. If you look at the list up and down, you see the top players in the country."

Alabama head coach Jenny Mainz was named the SEC Coach of the Year; Florida's Allie Will earned Player of the Year, and the Crimson Tide's Mary Anne Macfarlane grabbed SEC Freshman of the Year honors. Alabama's Courtney McLane was tabbed the Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The Rebels are hoping to continue their season in the NCAA Championships. The selections will be announced Tuesday, May 3 at 4 p.m. CT on NCAA.com.
