Rebel Golfers Qualify For U.S. Amateur Public Links

OXFORD, Miss. - The 2010-11 season may be over for the Ole Miss men's golf team, but the summer season is heating up as several members of the team get set to compete in amateur events around the country.
Earlier this week, Joe David and Jonathan Randolph qualified for the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship to be played June 27-July 2 at the Bandon Dunes Golf Course in Bandon, Ore.
Randolph, a native of Brandon, Miss., shot 68-70--138 to win by five at the Bridges Golf Club at Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis, Miss. David fired a 66-70--136 and won by three at the Harpeth Hills Golf Course in Nashville, Tenn.
Also taking place this week, Chad Bounds of Meridian, Miss., qualified for the Mississippi State Amateur Championship with the low round (66) of the day at the Tupelo Country Club qualifier. The State Amateur will be played June 9-12 at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point.
