OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball team will take to the court for the 2011 campaign with a challenging schedule that features nine teams who advanced to the NCAA Tournament a year ago, head coach Joe Getzin announced on Tuesday.

Fourteen of the Rebels' 29 matches will come against these teams who advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2010. Six of those matches will come at home as a part of Ole Miss' 13-match home schedule that features competition against 10 Southeastern Conference foes and three matches in the Magnolia Invitational.

Ole Miss is coming off a 19-11 season and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. It was the third NCAA Tournament berth in the last five years for the Ole Miss program.

The Rebels open the season on the road for back-to-back weekends starting with a trip to the University of Texas for a weekend tournament August 26-27. Ole Miss will play three matches that weekend, facing the host Texas Longhorns, Pepperdine and the Israeli National Team. Texas advanced to the Final Four last season before falling to eventual national champion Penn State.

The next weekend, the Rebels continue to play on the road to participate in a tournament at the University of Louisville on Sept. 2-3. Ole Miss will face a pair of NCAA Tournament teams from last year in host Louisville and Wichita State while also facing off against Eastern Illinois.

The Rebels then return home for the first time with the Magnolia Invitational the weekend of Sept. 9-10 in conjunction with Ole Miss' home football game against Southern Illinois. In the opening home weekend of action, the Rebels will host 2010 NCAA Tournament participant Northwestern out of the Big 10 along with UALR and Central Arkansas.

Ole Miss then jumps into Southeastern Conference play opening the league schedule at home against Western Division foes LSU and Arkansas as a part of the 20-match, round robin conference schedule. Ole Miss will face the 10 others schools in the league who participate in volleyball twice in a home-and-home format. Vanderbilt does not sponsor volleyball.

In the first time through the conference slate, the Rebels will host LSU (Sept. 16), Arkansas (Sept. 18), Mississippi State (Oct. 2), Florida (Oct. 14) and South Carolina (Oct. 16). Ole Miss will travel to play Georgia (Sept. 23), Auburn (Sept. 25), Alabama (Sept. 28), Kentucky (Oct. 7) and Tennessee (Oct. 9).

The schedule will then flip for the second half of conference play with the Rebels hosting the teams they played on the road the first time through and traveling to face the schools they hosted. Down the stretch, the Rebels will host Auburn (Oct. 28), Georgia (Oct. 30), Tennessee (Nov. 11), Kentucky (Nov. 13) and Alabama (Nov. 25). Ole Miss will travel to play Arkansas (Oct. 21), LSU (Oct. 23), South Carolina (Nov. 4), Florida (Nov. 6) and Mississippi State (Nov. 18).
