Rebel Volleyball To Appear In Three TV Matches This Fall

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball team will make three appearances on television in the upcoming season, including a home contest against in-state rival Mississippi State that will be showcased on ESPNU it was announced on Thursday.
Ole Miss will play two of their three televised matches on the road, allowing Rebel fans more opportunities to see the Rebels in action.
"It's exciting to be promoting Southeastern Conference volleyball and to be representing the Southeastern Conference on television," said Ole Miss head coach Joe Getzin. "These should be three exciting matches that can showcase our talents."
The first television match of the season for Ole Miss will come in the friendly confines of the Gillom Sports Center on Sunday, Oct. 2, when the Rebels host the Mississippi State Bulldogs. That match has been moved to a 4 p.m. start time to accommodate ESPNU.
The Rebels will then return to television twice in the same weekend with a pair of road contests to be televised by Fox Sports Net and CSS. Ole Miss will face off against the South Carolina Gamecocks at 6 p.m. CT on Fox Sports Net on Friday, Nov. 4 before a showdown with the Florida Gators on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 1 p.m. on CSS.
All SEC volleyball contests carried by Fox Sports and CSS can also be watched online at ESPN3.com.
Ole Miss opens the 2011 season the weekend of August 26 at the University of Texas in the Burnt Orange Classic. The Rebels will play an exhibition match against the Israeli National Team and also play a pair of matches against Pepperdine and host Texas.
