OXFORD, Miss. - Former Ole Miss cornerback Jeremy McGee and defensive tackle Lawon Scott signed rookie NFL free agents deals on Monday. McGee inked with the New York Jets, while Scott signed on with the Dallas Cowboys.

McGee played in all 12 games with 11 starts as a senior for the Rebels in 2010. He posted 33 tackles, three pass break-ups, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. The New Orleans, La., native played in 38 games during his career at Ole Miss with 13 starts and tallied 72 tackles with 13 passes defended.

A four-year letterwinner, Scott played in 40 games in his career for the Rebels with 20 starts. He totaled 57 career tackles, including a career-best 24 stops in 2009 after starting all 13 games for the Cotton Bowl champions. Scott earned honorable mention All-SEC honors from the Associated Press in 2008 after tying a career high with 2.5 TFLs.

The duo gives Ole Miss five players from last year's squad in the league including 2011 NFL draft pick Jerrell Powe (Kansas City Chiefs) and free agent signees Jonathan Cornell (Tennessee Titans) and Jeremiah Masoli (San Francisco 49ers). A total of 27 former Rebels have moved onto the NFL in just the past three seasons.
