OXFORD, Miss. - Fans will notice a new ticket scanning technology at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in 2011, starting this Saturday when the Rebels face BYU to kick off the season.
All tickets will now be bar-coded and scanned at all entry gates. The new technology will improve security at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, while also affording customers some exciting new benefits.
Season ticket holders will now have the ability to transfer their tickets to other Ole Miss fans online, ensuring that Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is filled with Rebel fans on Saturdays. Customers will also have the ability to re-print tickets at home from a personal computer.
"The new ticket scanning technology will really enhance our gameday operations," said Wesley Owen, Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Operations. "In addition, the new print-at-home and transfer technologies are very easy to use. We think our fans will really enjoy having the ability to transfer their tickets, or to print from home."
Transferring unused tickets to family and friends is now easier than ever, and eliminates the need to meet face-to-face or stand in will call lines before the game to drop off or pick up extra tickets. Customers simply login to their online account on OleMissSports.com and transfer tickets to another Rebel fan. The recipient then gets an email notifying them of the transfer, instantly receives the tickets and prints the tickets on-demand.
"We strive to provide the best customer service in college athletics," added Allen Greene, Assistant Athletics Director for Development/Priority Seating. "Implementing this new ticket technology is another step toward that endeavor."
All football season ticket holders were sent an email with details on how to use the new technology. This information can be accessed online by clicking on the links below. If you have any additional questions, please call the Ole Miss Ticket Office at 662-915-7167.
Ole Miss Athletics recommends getting to the gates early, especially for the BYU game, as this will be the first game when our new ticket scanning technology will be implemented.
