OXFORD, Miss. - On the heels of a runner-up finish at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Nashville this past weekend, the Ole Miss men's golf team has been ranked 24th in the nation in Golfstat.com's first ratings of the season.

The Rebels are one of six teams from the Southeastern Conference appearing in the top 25, including No. 1 Arkansas.

In addition, three Rebels hold individual rankings in the publication's top-250, led by No. 43 Joe David.

"We are pleased with our good start," said head coach Ernest Ross. "It's really nice to have three players in the top-250. Joe David is off to a great start, with five of six rounds in the 60s. He has not shot over par all year."

David has earned a pair of top-five finishes to open the season-most recently a third place finish in Nashville.

No. 79 Billy Brozovich tied David for third at the Mason Rudolph Championship-a career-best placement for the senior.

No. 202 Joe Lewis earns a spot in the ratings thanks to a top-10 finish this past weekend in the freshman's second career tournament.

The Rebels will return to action Oct. 7-9, as they open play in the Brickyard Collegiate in Macon, Ga.

"We are looking forward to our next tournament," said Ross. "It's going to be a tougher course and a much tougher field, so we are working hard to prepare for it."
