Coffey Leads Rebels At Tiger Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Junior Kim Coffey posted a team-high 588 in air rifle at Thursday's Tiger Invitational to lead the Rebels into the lead with a team score of 2341.
Coffey was followed closely by sophomore Alivia Yeager who matched her personal best in air rifle, firing a 587. Senior Keely Stankey posted a 585, while sophomore Abbey Stanec fired a 581. Sophomore Melissa Quartarone completed the scoring for the Rebels in air posting a 577.
The Rebels also had a strong showing in smallbore, posting a team score of 2238. Ole Miss was led by Quartarone's 568, she was followed by Stankey's 561, and sophomore Rena Goodwin who fired a 555. Stanec posted a 554 and sophomore MaryAnn Banks finished the scoring line with a mark of 551.
"With our first match out of the way, we can perform a bit more relaxed now," said Ole Miss head coach Valerie Boothe. "Our air rifle score was right on pace with how we have been training, and we have a lot of ground that we can make up in smallbore. We are looking forward to some good home scores in the next few weeks."
Competition in the Tiger Invitational continues throughout the weekend. The Rebels will conclude the Ole Miss Invitational this weekend at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center in Oxford.
The Rebels will host Alaska-Fairbanks Oct. 5 and Army Oct. 9.
