Meet The Diamond Rebs Prior To Saturday Basketball Game

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss fans get a chance to meet the 2012 edition of the Rebel baseball team on Saturday prior to the men's basketball game against South Carolina on Saturday at the annual Meet the Rebels event at Tad Smith Coliseum.
The baseball team will be signing autographs and handing out schedule posters on the main concourse of Tad Smith Coliseum beginning at 5 p.m. until the men's game tips off at 6 p.m. Fans will also have the opportunity to get order forms for season tickets should they still need to secure a spot in Oxford-University Stadium for the upcoming season.
Ole Miss is ranked No. 22 nationally heading into the season and welcomed a top-five recruiting class to campus this past fall.
The Rebels open the season with a three-game set on the road at No. 10 TCU beginning on Friday, February 17. First pitch in that contest is set for 6:30 p.m.
YARBROUGH NAMED TOP 10 MIDDLE INFIELDER BY PERFECT GAME
Junior second basemen Alex Yarbrough was named one of the top 10 middle infielders in the nation by Perfect Game this week when the organization released its power rankings. Yarbrough came in as the 10th rated middle infielder and second in the Southeastern Conference according to Kendall Rogers, national college baseball analyst for Perfect Game.
REBELS OPENED PRESEASON PRACTICE TODAY
The Ole Miss squad hit the field on Friday for its first official practice of the preseason along with all the other teams in the nation. The Rebels, who have been going through individual skill work so far this spring, took the field for the first of three weekend scrimmages at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon.
Ole Miss will hold two more scrimmages throughout the weekend, scrimmaging at 1 p.m. on Saturday and at noon on Sunday. Both scrimmages are free and open to the public.
