NEW ORLEANS - A total of five Ole Miss athletes have received All-America honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) based on their performances at this past weekend's NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Nampa, Idaho.
Earning first-team distinction was senior Isiah Young, who placed seventh in the 60 meter dash in Nampa. Junior Mike Granger (60 meters), junior Ricky Robertson (high jump), senior Caleb Lee (long jump) and sophomore Fabia McDonald (women's pentathlon) earned second-team All-America status.
Athletes earned first-team status for finishing in the top eight at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Those who finished 9-16 were named to the second team. Anyone else who participated received honorable mention.
It is the first All-America honor for Young and McDonald in their college careers. Robertson received the distinction for the fifth time (all in the high jump), Granger for the fourth time (three times in 60 meters, once in outdoor 100 meters) and Lee for the third time (all in the long jump).
Earning honorable mention status was Robertson in the triple jump and Neal Tisher in the women's pole vault.
Ole Miss also had five USTFCCCA Indoor All-Americans last year.
