BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss senior women's tennis player Kristi Boxx has been named the SEC Player of the Week as announced by the league office Wednesday.

Boxx went 4-0 in singles and doubles last weekend to help the Rebels to a split of top-10 matches, defeating No. 8 Tennessee. In the win over the Lady Vols, she teamed with fellow senior Abby Guthrie to post a win over the nation's No. 9 ranked team. In singles Boxx defeated the No. 28 ranked player. Against Georgia, Boxx downed 11th-ranked and former NCAA Champion Chelsey Gullickson in straight sets to improve to 4-0 in the SEC.

The Grenada, Miss., native owns a 20-7 overall record, 10-4 at No. 1 singles after Tuesday's win against Florida International. She has won six in a row at No. 1 singles and moved up to No. 12 in the latest ITA Singles Rankings.

In doubles, Boxx and Guthrie are ranked No. 5 with a 13-1 record at No. 1 doubles. They have won eight in a row.

This marks the fourth conference weekly honor for the Rebels this year. Sophomore Vivian Vlaar earned Player of the Week honors in February, and both Erin Stephens and Julia Jones have been named SEC Freshman of the Week.

The Rebels continue their spring break trip with No. 21 Yale Thursday at 10 a.m. CT in Miami.
