OXFORD, Miss. - In an attempt to make access easier and more fan friendly to Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field, Ole Miss has instituted a new parking policy for Old Taylor Road outside of the Rebels' baseball facility.
Parking will no longer be allowed on the east side of Old Taylor Road (the side closest to O-U Stadium) between the stadium entrance and the South Parking Lot located off Old Taylor Road and Highway 6. The east side of the roadway will be designated as a pedestrian walkway to help facilitate foot traffic up Old Taylor Road to the stadium.
The new policy goes into effect beginning with this weekend's Southeastern Conference series against Auburn. Fans are encouraged to take advantage of the free parking in the South Lot.
In addition to the new parking policy, fans are advised that due to construction work on campus there is a road closure that will affect traffic patterns this weekend. The intersection of University Avenue and All-American Drive is closed. Traffic on University Avenue must turn onto Old Taylor Drive and will not be allowed to cross the bridge onto campus.
Fans have parking passes for lots C and G can access those lots from the west off All-American Drive and from Gertrude Ford Parkway this weekend. This construction will be ongoing throughout the course of the baseball season and fans will be updated on the new closures and any detours that will impact traffic patterns. Updates will be available at www.OleMiss.edu/Beautiful each week.
The Rebels and Tigers will play game one of this weekend's series at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Saturday and Sunday's contests are both set to begin at 1:30 p.m.
