David, Rebels Move Up On Day Two At Bulls Bay

AWENDAW, S.C. -- Joe David fired a 4-under 68, while Blake Morris and Billy Brozovich shot a 70 and 71 respectively, as the Ole Miss men's golf team moved into seventh place at the conclusion of the second round of action Monday at the Hootie at Bulls Bay.
Ole Miss recorded the fifth-best team score of the day-a 6-under 285-to climb into seventh place. No. 5 Auburn shot a 275 to move into first place, seven shots ahead of second-place Kentucky and Texas A&M.
"We played better today, as conditions were easier," said Ole Miss head coach Ernest Ross. "Joe David did not make a bogey, and Billy Brozovich only had one bogey. I was also proud of Tom Brown, who went to the emergency room last night after hurting his wrist. The doctor put him in a splint and sling, but he tried his best and toughed out a 73. We need one more good day."
For David, it was a huge day individually, as he moved into a three-way tie for third place at 5-under. David shot a bogey-free round and rolled in four birdies, including two in his final four holes of the day. He sits just two strokes behind current leader Cameron Peck of Texas A&M.
Morris, who is coming off of a career-best seventh-place finish a week ago at the Chris Schenkel Invitational, got off to a hot start by birdying five of his first 11 holes before finishing at 2-over to stand in a tie for 18th place.
Brozovich also finds himself in 18th place after carding a consistent 1-under round on Monday to move to even-par for the tournament.
