Ole Miss To Host No. 24 Auburn This Weekend

OXFORD, Miss. - Fresh off hosting No. 11 Georgia last weekend, the Ole Miss softball team will welcome another ranked foe to Oxford as the No. 24 Auburn Tigers will begin a three-game series at the Ole Miss Softball Complex Friday at 6 p.m. First pitch for Saturday's game is set for 2 p.m., while Sunday's series finale is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.

Ole Miss will also hold a replica jersey t-shirt giveaway on Friday night, as the first 200 Rebel fans will receive a replica t-shirt of the Rebels' 2012 home jersey. In honor of April Fool's Day on Sunday, the first 100 fans to the game will receive parody Groucho Marx glasses.

Admission to all Ole Miss softball games is free, and fans are encouraged to bring chairs and coolers for the outfield seating. Outside food or drink is not allowed inside the stadium area of the Ole Miss Softball Complex. Fans can also hear the game on Reb Sports Radio on 102.1 FM in Oxford, 101.3 FM in Grenada, 1240 AM in Jackson and online at RebSportsRadio.com. Live in-game stats will also be available on OleMissSports.com and RebelVision will provide live video.

The Rebels enter the weekend SEC series with a 14-16 overall record, after splitting a midweek double header in Ridgeland on Tuesday, and are 2-6 in conference action. Sophomore Londen Ladner continues to lead the team with a .397 batting average and five home runs, while freshman Allison Brown has knocked a team-best 28 RBI, which ranks third among freshmen in the SEC. Senior Kendall Bruning leads the squad in the circle with an 11-8 record, a 3.82 ERA and 90 strikeouts in 111.2 innings pitched.

Auburn comes to Oxford with a 24-11 overall mark, a 3-7 record in league action and are ranked No. 24 in the nation in both the ESPN/USA Softball and the USA Today/NFCA Coaches' polls. The Tigers dropped both games of a midweek double header to No. 2 Alabama at home on Tuesday, but are led at the plate by senior Elizabeth Eisterhold, who ranks second in the SEC with 10 home runs. Senior Angel Bunner has posted a team-best 10-2 record with a 1.89 ERA in the circle.

The Tigers lead the all-time series 34-15, but the Rebels have split the last four meetings including a 2-1 win at No. 22 Auburn last season.
