OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 16 ranked Ole Miss men's tennis will have to put the disappointing 4-3 loss to No. 3 Virginia behind them quickly as they hit the road to face No. 19 Tennessee and No. 6 Georgia in SEC play this weekend.

The Rebels come into the second weekend of SEC play at 5-3 overall and 2-0. They are one of four teams who won both matches to start the conference season.

"It was extremely disappointing to lose a match like we did, because you put everything into it and come up short," head coach Billy Chadwick said. But these guys know that we need to beat Tennessee, so they'll be ready."

Freshman Nik Scholtz continued his stellar start, winning in both singles and doubles against Virginia to improve to 6-1 at No. 1 singles and 5-1 at No. 2 doubles. He says despite the tough loss, the team has what it takes to still make this a memorable season.

"We have to put the Virginia loss behind us, because we can still have a great season. We're still 2-0 in the SEC and we have a big match against Tennessee coming up," Scholtz said.

Tennessee enters the weekend at 8-7 overall and 1-1 in the SEC. They lost to Florida and defeated South Carolina last weekend. The Vols are led by freshman Mikelis Libietis who is ranked No. 36 in the nation with a 16-5 overall record, 8-4 at No. 1 singles.

On Sunday, the Rebels will travel to Athens, Ga. to battle No. 6 Georgia. The Bulldogs also went 2-0 on the opening weekend of SEC play, rallying to defeat Florida at home. They are led by the SEC Player of the Week, Wil Spencer, who is ranked No. 3 in the nation.

Both matches will feature live scoring and live streaming which can be accessed at www.OleMissSports.com.
