Ole Miss To Host Jackson State

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss will welcome instate foe Jackson State to Oxford for a mid-week matchup on Tuesday at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.

Admission to all Ole Miss softball games is free, and fans are encouraged to bring chairs and coolers for the outfield seating. Outside food or drink is not allowed inside the stadium area of the Ole Miss Softball Complex. Fans can also hear the game on Reb Sports Radio on 102.1 FM in Oxford, 101.3 FM in Grenada, 1240 AM in Jackson and online at RebSportsRadio.com. Live in-game stats will also be available on OleMissSports.com and RebelVision will provide live video.

Ole Miss hosts the Tigers after knocking off No. 24 Auburn 6-1 on Sunday in Oxford. Senior Kendall Bruning held the Tigers hitless until the seventh inning en route to the complete-game win. Bruning leads the Rebels in the circle with a 12-9 record and a 3.70 ERA in 128.2 innings. Senior Corrine Doornberg paces Ole Miss at the plate with a .360 batting average, while freshman Allison Brown has a team-high 29 RBI.

Jackson State won a neutral-site meeting last week 7-2 over the Rebels and enters the mid-week tilt with a 24-15 overall mark and are led at the plate by Wendi Reed, who boasts a .390 batting average, five homers and a team-best 28 RBI. Breea Jamerson has posted a 13-5 mark with a 3.38 ERA in the circle for the Tigers.

The Rebels had won all four previous meeting with the Tigers before dropping last week matchup in Ridgleand.
