OXFORD, Miss. - Men's golfer Joe David was able to add another note to a stellar 2011-12 campaign today when the senior was named a member of the All-SEC Second Team.

Currently rated the No. 34 individual in the nation, David leads the Rebels this season with a 71.43 stroke average. The native of Madison, Tenn., has finished in the top 20 in nine of 10 events, including three in the top-five. His regular season was highlighted by third-place showings at the Mason Rudolph Championship and the David Toms Intercollegiate.

"Joe has worked really hard for four years," said Ole Miss head coach Ernest Ross. "I am glad to see him honored as an All-SEC golfer. Joe has been a great leader by example with his work ethic on the golf course."

For his career, David ranks third in Ole Miss history in stroke average behind All-Americans Jonathan Randolph and Dave Peege. David has picked up top-five finishes in five events throughout his four years at Ole Miss and top-20's in 27.

As a freshman in 2009, David was named to the SEC All-Freshman team.

David becomes the 14th player under Ross to earn All-SEC honors, and the fifth since Ross returned to Ole Miss in 2004.

David will learn if his season will continue as an individual participant when NCAA Regional selections are announced next Monday.
