Rebels Complete Second Round Of Regional Play

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Natalie Gleadall shot a 4-over-76 to lead the Ole Miss women's golf team on Friday in the second round of the NCAA Central Regional at the Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
The Rebels moved up one spot into 15th place in the team standings. The top eight teams and top two individuals not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Championships May 22-25 in Nashville, Tenn.
No. 3 Southern Cal remains in first place. The Trojans carded a 290 in the second round to push their lead out to 12 strokes over second-place No. 10 Vanderbilt.
The Trojan's Lisa McCloskey leads all individuals at 3-under for the tournament.
After struggling in Thursday's opening round, Gleadall limited her mistakes on Friday. The senior rolled in a birdie on her final hole of the day to finish at 76.
Haley Sanders, who fired a 74 on Thursday, birdied three holes but a pair of double bogeys left her with a 78 for the day. Sanders is currently in 23rd place and remains in contention for a top-10 finish.
Senior Haley Millsap posted a solid final nine holes, shooting a par during that stretch, to also finish with a 78 for the round.
Junior Ericka Schneider followed with a 79.
"We still haven't played this golf course well as a team," said Ole Miss head coach Michele Drinkard. "But we did play with more energy today, which i was proud of. I believe the best is yet to come from us. We had a good practice session and are ready to win each and every hole tomorrow."
