OXFORD, Miss. - For many college students, summer is filled with internships or lazy days by the pool. But for collegiate golfers, it's spent traveling the country playing in amateur tournaments. Incoming Ole Miss men's golfer Forrest Gamble has had a successful past two weeks on the links.
The Birmingham, Ala., native tied for 6th at the Southern Junior in Pinehurst, N.C. with a three round total of 221. This past week he finished T5th at the Western Junior in Village of Golf, Fla., with a four round total of 4-under par 284. Both of these fields are among the strongest in junior golf.
"I am really excited to see Forrest play some great golf," head coach Ernest Ross said. "He has established himself as one of the top juniors in America. I know he will be an immediate contributor to our program."
