Stephens Moves On At Riviera All-American

LOS ANGELES - Ole Miss women's tennis sophomore Erin Stephens won both her matches Saturday at the UCLA Tennis Center to advance to the third round of prequalifying at the Riviera ITA All-American Championships.
In the first round, Stephens defeated Dominica Zapranza (Marshall) 6-1, 4-6, 6-3. The Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., native took out SEC newcomer, Missouri's Cierra Gayton-Leach 6-4, 6-2 in the second round. Stephens will face the winner of Janine Weinreich (Nebraska) and Ema Burgic (Baylor) in the third round Sunday at 11 a.m. CT.
Fellow sophomore Julia Jones lost her first round match to Virginia's Stephanie Nauta 7-6(5), 6-1.
