Rebels Conclude Play At Regionals

AUBURN, Ala. - The Ole Miss women's tennis team concluded play at the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships Sunday, with senior Caroline Rohde-Moe advancing to the singles semifinals before bowing out.
The Rebels boasted three of the final eight players in singles, but Rohde-Moe was the lone one to reach the semis. Seeded No. 3, Rohde-Moe defeated Danielle Speilmann of Alabama 6-7, 6-1, 7-5 in the quarterfinals. Rohde-Moe then lost to the top seed, Pleun Burgmans of Auburn, 7-5, 6-1 in the semifinals.
Junior Julia Jones and sophomore Mai El Kamash were also in the quarterfinals. El Kamash fell to Auburn's Emily Flickinger 6-3, 6-4, and Jones lost a tough three-setter to Samford's Stephanie N'tcha 7-5, 1-6, 7-5.
The Rebels are off this coming weekend and will next travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., Nov. 1-3 for the Roberta Allison Invitational.

Semifinals -- Pleun Burgmans (AUB) def. Rohde-Moe (OM) 7-5, 6-1.
