Rohde-Moe Earns All-SEC Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss junior women's tennis player Caroline Rohde-Moe is one of those individuals who excel on and off the court, and Wednesday, she picked up another honor, earning All-SEC Second Team recognition as the league office announced the yearly awards.
The Blommenholm, Norway native earned All-SEC honors for the second year in a row. Rohde-Moe is currently ranked No. 43 in the nation in singles and is also nationally ranked in doubles with freshman Marija Milutinovic. Playing No. 1 singles for the first year in her career, Rohde-Moe owns a 26-18 overall record and came up big last week to clinch the Rebels' win over South Carolina in the first round of the SEC Championship.
"This is a fantastic honor for Caroline," head coach Mark Beyers said. "Caroline is one of the hardest working players I have ever been around. This league is extremely tough, so to be selected on the All-SEC Team is a great accomplishment."
In the latest ITA National Rankings, six SEC teams are ranked in the top 25, including four in the top 10.
Florida's Roland Thornqvist was named SEC Coach of the Year for the fourth time since 2004. The Gators are currently 22-2 overall and ended the conference season with a 12-1 record with a share of the regular season title. They also won the conference tournament title for the fourth consecutive time.
Florida's Lauren Embree was named Player of the Year for the second year while Auburn's Pleun Burgmans was named Freshman of the Year.
Scholar-Athlete of the Year was awarded to Alabama's Antonia Foehse. She holds a 3.975 GPA in psychology. She is a two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and a two-time ITA Scholar Athlete.
Ties are not broken which resulted in a 13 member second-team.
