CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Incoming Ole Miss freshman Ben Wolcott fired a 1-under par 70 in the third round to capture the Chattanooga Choo Choo Invitational on Wednesday with a three round total of 6-under par.
Wolcott carded a 4-under par 66 in the opening round at the Council Fire Golf Club in Chattanooga before shooting a 1-under par 70 in the second round. The Burns, Tenn., native was the only golfer to shoot under par in all three rounds and bested runner-up finisher Emerson Newsome by five shots.
Wolcott, whose father Bob was an All-American at Georgia in the early 1980s and played the PGA Tour, was Tennessee's top-ranked junior coming out of Dickson County High School.
