OXFORD, Miss. - A new year starts on Monday, and with that, the Ole Miss women's tennis team welcomes Zalina Khairudinova of Kazakhstan, to the program, head coach Mark Beyers announced Friday. She will begin competing for the Rebels in the fall of 2014.

Khairudinova (Kai-ROO-de-nova) achieved a career-high WTA ranking of 624 in singles and 474 in doubles. She won an ITF tournament in singles and was a finalist in doubles at another ITF tournament.

"We are excited to have Zalina join our program," head coach Mark Beyers announced. She brings a lot of experience in both singles and doubles. We are glad to have her part of our Rebel tennis family, and we're looking forward to seeing her play next year."

The Rebels return six of the top seven from last year, including two-time All-SEC honoree Caroline Rohde-Moe. They kick off the fall season Sept. 13-15 at the Duke Fall Invitational in Durham, N.C.
