ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Ole Miss women's tennis team concluded play at the Michigan Invitational Monday, picking up three more wins in singles and doubles at the Varsity Tennis Center. The Rebels will host Jackson State Wednesday in their home opener at 2 p.m. at the Gillom Sports Center.

Ole Miss began the day with doubles against South Florida, winning the No. 2 spot with Erin Stephens and Iris Verboven defeating Fanny Fracassi and Olaya Garrido 6-2. The No. 19 ranked duo of Caroline Rohde-Moe and Marija Milutinovic had chances in their match against Loreta Alonso and Kayla Rizzolo, before losing 7-5.

In the afternoon, the Rebels faced No. 9 Michigan in singles. Junior Julia Jones defeated 100th-ranked Sarah Lee 6-2, 6-2 to conclude the weekend 2-1 in singles. Iris Verboven earned the team's other singles win, beating Laura Ucros 6-4, 6-7, 10-7.

There was no team scoring for this event.

"Overall it was a great weekend, which should prepare us for this upcoming weekend," head coach Mark Beyers said. "Most of the girls got three singles and three doubles matches against some of the nation's top teams. We are excited about our first home match of the season Wednesday, and would like to encourage our fans to come out and support us."

Wednesday's match against JSU will mark the first dual match of the season for the Rebels. Following that match, the Rebels will head to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for this weekend's ITA Kickoff, which serves as the qualifier for the National Team Indoor Championships.

Admission to all home matches is free and fans can receive double Rebel Reward points. Fans coming to Wednesday's match will also receive an Ole Miss tennis t-shirt and free popcorn between doubles and singles.
