Rebels Look to Tame Tigers

LSU Match Notes
OXFORD, Miss. - Riding high after a huge weekend sweep of Auburn and Alabama on the road, the Ole Miss Volleyball team welcomes LSU to the Gillom Sports Center Wednesday at 6 p.m., in a nationally-televised match on the SEC Network.
The Rebels (18-3, 4-3) have won three straight and are the only team in the conference undefeated at home (9-0). LSU (10-7, 5-3) brings a five-match win streak to Gillom. If Ole Miss wins the match, they will move up to fourth in the SEC standings.
Fans coming to the match will get a free long sleeve Ole Miss Volleyball t-shirt. Doors will open at 5 p.m.
NOTING THE REBELS …
• The Rebels currently own the best overall record in the league at 18-3 and moved up in the standings to fifth, after the weekend wins.
• Sophomore Aubrey Edie was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week. That makes five of the first eight weeks for the Rebels to earn one of the league's weekly honors. The Rebels lead the league with five different players recognized to date.
REBELS VS. LSU …
• Ole Miss looks to win its fourth SEC match in a row while LSU comes in on a five-match win streak after wins over Missouri and No. 12 Kentucky last weekend.
• The Tigers are led by sophomore middle blocker Briana Holman, who averages 3.63 kills per set and 1.63 blocks per set.
RPI WATCH …
• In the most recent RPI released Monday, the Rebels moved up to No. 51 after the win over Alabama, who was 29. LSU is at No. 30 after their win over No. 12 Kentucky.
QUOTING HEAD COACH Steven McRoberts …
"LSU is a top 30 RPI ranked team. They started off the year struggling a little, but they have won five in a row and are playing with a lot of confidence. They are very athletic and have one of the top middles in the conference. We are also playing with a lot of confidence. It should be a really good match."
