Rebels Set to Host Fall Invitational

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Women's tennis team will host the 2014 Ole Miss Fall Invitational this weekend, beginning Friday morning at 9 a.m., at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. The Rebels will look to keep their momentum going against some tough competition.

REBELS IN ACTION THIS WEEKEND…
The entire team will compete this weekend, led by senior Julia Jones, who is fresh off of her UTSA/ITA Southern Regional Championship win. Fans will also get their first chance this season to see talented freshmen Arianne Hartono and Natalie Suk.

WHO WILL BE HERE? …
The invitational will feature four teams, including three from the SEC. Vanderbilt and Georgia will join Texas Tech as the visiting teams Ole Miss will face this weekend.

THESE LADIES ARE GOOD …
All four teams finished last season ranked in the top 30, with Georgia and Vanderbilt ranked No. 4 and No. 11, respectively. Junior Frances Altick (All-SEC First Team 2014) and sophomore Sydney Campbell (USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Champion) lead the Commodores, while the Bulldogs boast talented senior Lauren Herring (ranked No. 6 in the nation).

HEAD COACH Mark Beyers ON THIS WEEKEND …
"There's going to be some great matches, so I encourage all the fans to come out and see some of the best college tennis players in the country, and that's no exaggeration. However, I think from a depth standpoint, we match up extremely well and it should be a great weekend."

Ole Miss begins play Friday at 11:30 a.m. with doubles against Texas Tech, followed by singles versus Georgia at 1 p.m.
