Women's Tennis Heads to Tuscaloosa

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's tennis team has a busy weekend ahead of them, as they head to Tuscaloosa to participate in the 2014 Roberta Alison Fall Classic. Teams from 19 different schools will be competing in the 27th annual tournament, beginning at 9 a.m. Friday.

The tournament will consist of 11 eight-person singles draws and five eight-team doubles draws. Match play begins on Friday with the first round of doubles kicking off at 9 a.m. Doubles play will be immediately followed by two rounds of singles with the first round starting at 10 a.m. Saturday will feature two rounds of doubles and one round of singles.

REBELS IN ACTION THIS WEEKEND ...
With the exception of talented senior Julia Jones, the entire Rebel team will be hitting the courts this weekend, led by junior Mai El Kamash, who comes into the weekend with a 9-4 record, and freshman Arianne Hartono, who is 7-3.

WHO WILL BE THERE? ...
Among the 19 schools competing, there will be some very talented players at the tournament this weekend, including several in the national rankings. There are six SEC teams in this year's tournament: Alabama, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, LSU, Georgia and Mississippi State.

WHAT DOES HEAD COACH Mark Beyers HAVE TO SAY? ...
"This is great tournament where we can measure ourselves against some of the best players in the nation. It's the last tournament of the fall for most of these players, so it's an opportunity for us to see what we need to continue working on in preparation for the spring."
