Rebels Post Big Wins at Roberta Alison Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Ole Miss women's tennis team posted nine wins on day one of the Robert Alison Fall Classic, including two doubles teams in semifinals and two singles players in the finals of their respective draws.
The day began with doubles. Junior Mai El Kamash and freshman Arianne Hartono defeated Klier and Naz Karagoz of Tulane 8-4 to advance to the semifinals of the Melissa Minor Draw. In the Courtney McLane Draw, Allie Robbins and Marija Milutinovic downed Torres and Sediri of Middle Tennessee State 8-1.
In singles, Hartono defeated Louisiana Monroe's Elanor Grossman 6-2, 6-4 in the first round and then took out 42nd-ranked Georgina Petrasc of Mississippi State 6-1, 6-2 in the Alexa Guarachi Draw.
Senior Erin Stephens also won both her singles matches to reach the final. In the first round of the Shelley Godwin Draw, Stephens came back to beat Kayla Jones of UTC 2-6, 7-5, 7-6(4) before downing Michigan's Ronit Yurovsky, ranked No. 21 in the nation, 6-0, 6-3.
Play concludes Saturday with two rounds of doubles and the finals of singles.
