Ole Miss-Georgia Tech Football Series Moved Back
10/6/2014 | Football
OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss and Georgia Tech will play a home-and-home football series in 2022 and 2023.
The teams were originally scheduled to play in 2017 and 2018, but the Rebels accommodated Tech's request to move the series back so the Jackets can schedule other "Power 5" games in those seasons.
Georgia Tech will host the Rebels in Atlanta in 2022, and the Yellow Jackets will make the return visit to Oxford in 2023.
Though the teams were both charter members of the Southeastern Conference, they have played only four times, each with two wins. The 2022 meeting will be the first regular-season game in the series since 1946 - a 24-7 Tech win in Atlanta. Ole Miss lost to Tech in the 1953 Sugar Bowl, but the Rebels have won the last two meetings in the 1971 Peach Bowl and 2013 Music City Bowl.
