OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's tennis team added to this year's recruiting class with the signing of Tereza Janatová (Nová Paka, the Czech Republic), head coach Mark Beyers announced Friday.

Janatová has been ranked as high as No. 814 in the WTA Doubles Rankings. She has also been ranked No. 30 in the Czech Republic Women's Rankings.

"Tereza is a great competitor, she plays with a lot of heart," Beyers said. "Her style of play is a little unconventional, with a lot of slices, and spins, so it's going to be tough for people to play against her. Ole Miss fans are really going to enjoy watching her. She's extremely athletic. Being in college playing tennis with the level of competition that we play every year, she is really going to thrive and continue to get better."

In the Czech Republic Women's Championship in 2014, Janatová placed third in both singles and doubles. She also placed third in the 2012 Czech Republic Junior Championship. At the Czech Republic National Women's Grade A, she owns two titles in doubles, and also reached two semifinals in singles. Janatová has also reached two ITF $10,000 doubles finals and one ITF $15,000 doubles semifinal.

Off the court, she Janatová maintained a 4.0 during high school and participated in several academic competitions in addition to tennis.

"Tereza is an outstanding student and will help us continue our tradition of excellence in the classroom," Beyers said. "She is exactly the type of student-athlete we look for in our program."

Janatová joins Phoenix, Arizona native Allie Sanford as this year's recruiting class.
