OXFORD, Miss. - Wednesday night sophomore Aubrey Edie (Fayetteville, Arkansas) passed out a career-high 62 assists to help lead the Ole Miss Volleyball team to a 3-1 win at Mississippi State. Thursday she was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 6 First Team.

As a member of the All-District First Team, Edie is eligible for Academic All-America honors.

Joining Edie in earning Academic All-District honors is fellow sophomore Melanie Crow (Wildwood, Missouri), who made the second team.

"We are all very proud of Aubrey and Melanie," head coach Steven McRoberts said. "They have been successful on the court and just as important, they have been outstanding in the classroom. They set the example of a true student-athlete, and Aubrey and Melanie are exactly the model of what we want an Ole Miss Volleyball player to be."

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must hold a 3.3 grade point average or higher and must be in their second year at the nominating institution. Student-athletes must also have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the time of nomination.

Edie boasts a 3.93 grade point average in elementary education. She currently ranks second in the SEC with 11.31 assists per set. With 984 assists to date, Edie needs just six more to eclipse the single season record in the rally scoring (play to 25) era.

Crow, who has also started every match for the Rebels this season, holds a 3.95 GPA in Psychology. She is averaging 2.87 kills per set and ranks fifth in the SEC with 0.30 aces per set.

Both players have helped lead the Rebels to their first 20-win season (20-5, 6-5) since 2007, as they get set to face Texas A&M in College Station Sunday at 1 p.m.
