Jones Concludes Play at National Indoors

FLUSHING, N.Y. - Ole Miss Women's Tennis senior Julia Jones wrapped up play at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships Saturday going 1-1 in consolation at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
In the quarterfinals, Jones, ranked No. 72 in the nation, held off 50th-ranked Sydney Campbell of Vanderbilt in three sets. Jones won the first set 6-3 and then dropped the second in a tiebreaker before taking the third set 6-4 to advance to the semifinals.
In the semifinal match, Jones fell in two tight sets to 16th-ranked Zsofia Susayni of California 6-4, 7-6(4).
"Julia played a very good match against a very good experienced opponent," head coach Mark Beyers said. "I am very proud of Julia. She represented herself and Ole Miss extremely well in this tough field."
Jones concludes an outstanding fall with a 10-3 record including the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Singles Championship.
