OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss could not get its offense going Saturday afternoon against No. 9 Alabama (23-4, 5-0 Southeastern Conference) and fell 7-0 in game two of the three-game series at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.

"(Alabama pitcher Leslie Jury) is a tough one," Ole Miss head coach Windy Thees said. "She's been solid ever since she came into the league and it's actually the first time we've faced her since we haven't played them in a few years. She did a pretty good job. It was hard getting down early a little bit.

"(Emily) Gaitan did a good job while she was in there only giving up those three runs, and then in the fifth she was a little fatigued so I thought I made a strategic play and switched it up, but it didn't necessarily work out for us. But she came back in the game in the seventh and got the three outs we needed to keep us in the game so we had a chance."

Ole Miss (16-12, 1-4 SEC) put a runner on base in every inning but one, but could not advance its base runners to get on the board. Sophomore Madi Osias had another strong day at the plate for the Rebels. After going 1-3 with a home run Friday, Osias went 2-3 Saturday to lead all Rebels.

"She's really relaxed right now and she's a big-game player," said Thees of Osias. "She loves big stages and she loves hitting so if you put those two together I think she really excels."

Alabama scored two runs on three hits in the top of the first to take an early 2-0 lead, and tacked on one run in the fourth followed by four runs in the fifth to win 7-0.

The series finale Sunday is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT and will be the first Sundae Sunday at the park where all fans will be able to get free ice cream sundaes while supplies last. There will also be free green eye black and 'Kiss Me I'm a Rebel' pins, while supplies last, in honor of St. Patrick's Day Monday.
