OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss softball team rallied with its back against the wall Sunday afternoon at the Ole Miss Softball Complex, but unlike Saturday the Rebels couldn't get enough runs home and fell to Arkansas 15-7 (5) in the series finale.

After plating 10 of its 11 runs Friday with two outs on the board, and overcoming a five-run deficit Saturday, Ole Miss (19-14, 3-6 Southeastern Conference) fought hard again Sunday, but couldn't slow down the Arkansas (22-10, 2-4 SEC) bats.

"Our offense took a little bit longer to get going - kind of like yesterday," Ole Miss head coach Windy Thees said. "We got down a little bit and had to time their pitcher, and when we did we started getting hits. They were swinging it today and they had our pitcher's number. We just couldn't keep them from scoring. We kept up with them and started scoring there at the end, but it was too little too late."

Five different Rebels knocked in runs Sunday, led by junior third baseman Allison Brown's two RBIs. Five different Rebels also scored Sunday, with junior right fielder Jamie Morgan and senior catcher Marina Parra each crossing home plate twice.

Arkansas jumped out to a quick lead with three runs in the first inning and seven more in the third to take a 10-0 lead.

Ole Miss began its rally in the bottom of the third with three runs on six hits. The Rebels then loaded the bases with one out away in the fourth inning, but could only bring one run across to cut the Razorbacks' lead to six.

Arkansas scored five more runs in the fifth, and Ole Miss again answered by plating three runs in the bottom-half of the inning, but it wasn't enough.

Ole Miss will play again Tuesday when it travels north to Martin, Tenn., to face the UT Martin Skyhawks. Ole Miss defeated UT Martin 3-2 earlier this season at the Ole Miss Softball Complex as part of the Red and Blue Classic.
