Men's Tennis Heads to Tulsa for All-American

OXFORD, Miss. - The year's first major begins this weekend, with several members of the Ole Miss Men's Tennis team heading to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships.
The pre-qualifying tournament starts Saturday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center and concludes with the finals on Sunday. Players must win four matches to advance to the qualifying tournament, which starts Tuesday, Sept. 30. The main draw begins Thursday, Oct. 2.
WHO'S GOING…
Competing this weekend will be Ricardo Jorge, Vinod Gowda, Zach Wilder, Gustav Hansson and Zvonimir Babic. All six will need to win four matches to join teammates William Kallberg and Stefan Lindmark in the qualifying. The Rebels will have two doubles teams in qualifying with Kallberg and Jorge teaming up and Lindmark and Hansson pairing together.
REBELS AT ITA ALL-AMERICAN…
Ten years ago Rebel alum Catalin Gard took home the ITA All-American Championship singles title as the No. 1 seed. In 2008, former All-Americans Bram ten Berge and Jonas Berg won the doubles title in their first year competing together. The Rebels have had a main draw participant 20 of the last 21 years.
WRAPPING UP THE SEC FALL CLASSIC…
The Rebels concluded their first tournament of the season last weekend at the SEC Fall Classic in Gainesville, Florida with Lindmark and Jorge reaching the semifinals of the doubles and Jorge finishing runner-up in the singles consolation.

"The All American is the biggest tournament of the fall, and it is a great opportunity to get some quality matches in. All the guys have worked hard in the few days we have had to prepare for this trip. We are looking forward to building on what we did last week in Gainesville."
