Ole Miss Takes Fourth at Shoal Creek Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss received notable contributions from all four members factoring into its team score, as the Rebels placed three players in the top 20 of a tournament for the first time since 2012.
Seniors Joe Lewis and Blake Morris and sophomore Noah West helped propel Ole Miss to a fourth-place at the 2014 Shoal Creek Invitational hosted by Graeme McDowell.
Lewis, who finished in a tie for 12th, was the Rebels' top finisher, firing a three-round score of 2-over 218. Morris posted a three-round score of 4-over 220 and tied for 17th, while West tied for 19th place, carding a three-round score of 5-over 221.
"We couldn't have gotten off to a worse start, but once again, the guys really hung in there," head coach Chris Malloy said. "We need to get back and work on a few things and be ready to go again next week. As I said before, I really do believe that we are close to putting three very good rounds together."
As a team, the Rebels finished with a three-round score of 14-over 878. North Florida took home first place, firing a three-round score of 5-under 859.
Sophomore Ben Wolcott fired a 4-over par 76 in the third round and tied for 25th place. Freshman Josh Seiple finished in a tie for 40th place, carding a three round score of 228.
With Malloy at the helm, Ole Miss has finished in the top five in two of its three tournaments this season.
The Rebels will have a quick turnaround as they head to the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Oct. 6-7.
