Rebel Netter Earns Top-10 Win

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Ole Miss women's tennis senior Mai El Kamash posted the biggest win of her career Saturday to add to the Rebels total for the weekend, at the June Stewart Memorial Tournament hosted by Vanderbilt.
Seventh Heaven on Saturday
Saturday was a big day for El Kamash, ranked No. 105, as she rallied to knock of the nation's No. 7 ranked player, Sydney Campbell, a member of the defending NCAA Champion, Vanderbilt. Campbell took the first set 6-2, but El Kamash won a tiebreaker in the second set 7-6(3) to force a deciding set. In the final frame, El Kamash dominated 6-2 to post the highest ranked win in her career. Freshman Allie Sanford also won Saturday, beating Summer Dvorak (VU) 7-5, 6-4. Zalina Khairudinova lost a tight three-setter, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, to Ellie Yates. Ole Miss won its only doubles match on Saturday, with Khairudinova and Sanford downing Sarah McLean and Appel of Indiana 6-1.

Rewind to Friday
On Friday, the Rebels went 3-1 in singles, with wins by Mai El Kamash, Zalina Khairudinova and Allie Sanford against players from Indiana. El Kamash cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 win against Sarah McLean. Khairudinova beat Kim Schmider, and Allie Sanford topped Danielle Wolf 6-3, 6-4.
