OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss women's tennis concluded the fall this weekend at the Roberta Alison Classic, going 11-5 in singles and doubles at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. Freshman Brooke Stevens won both her singles and doubles draws.
Singles
Sophomore Natalie Suk finished 2-1 in the Weyli Chang Draw. After a big win against the 74th-ranked player in the semifinals, Suk lost to Alabama freshman Andie Daniell in a tight three-set match. Suk won the first set in a tiebreaker, 7-6(4), but Daniell won the second set 6-2. The two would end up in a tiebreaker to decide the match, and Daniell held off Suk 7-6(5) for the win.
Freshman Brooke Stevens won the Jenny Ketchum Draw, defeating UTC's Rachele Gazzola 7-6(3), 6-4.
Doubles
In doubles, Natalie Suk and Tea Jandric teamed up to finish 2-1. They reached the finals of the Emily Zabor Draw and lost to Georgia Tech's Johnnise Renaud and Rasheed McAdoo, 7-6(5).
Brooke Stevens and Allie Robbins won the Bianca Svensson Draw, downing UTC's Rachele Gazzola and McKenzie Barco, 6-1.
Quoting Head Coach Mark Beyers
"It was a pretty solid ending to our fall schedule, which could have been great, had we been able to win a few tiebreakers. We are very excited for Brooke winning both her singles and doubles draws alongside Allie Robbins. Even though Natalie lost her singles final, she played some of her best tennis of the fall today."
