UTC Steve Baras Classic
Multiple rain delays during the tournament forced it to be cut short, but the Rebels picked up 14 wins total in singles and doubles. Zalina Khairudinova reached the finals of the No. 1 singles draw for the second week in a row. She won twice before the final match was cancelled due to rain. Freshman Allie Sanford reached the final of the No. 2 singles draw with two straight set wins, but her final match was cancelled as well. The Rebels had two doubles teams reach the championship match of the No. 1 draw, including Khairudinova/Sanford for the second weekend in a row. They were scheduled to face teammates Marija Milutinovic and Tea Jandric, before rain cancelled the final.
Quoting Associate Head Coach Jason Ontog
"I happy with the way we competed, we made the best of the opportunities we got. Unfortunately, the rain delays caused the tournament to be cut short, but we did a good job in the matches we were able to play. Our doubles looked especially good, and while we have still have work to do, I think we are on the right track."
