OXFORD, Miss. - Numerous team and individual records continue to be broken under second year Ole Miss Volleyball head coach Steven McRoberts, and Wednesday he announced six new additions to the program, to continue the upward trend. Over the next six days, the Rebels will introduce Ole Miss fans to the newest members of the program, beginning with Kansas native Emily Engelken.
Engelken, an outside/right side hitter from Overland Park, Kansas, just finished up helping Blue Valley West High School win the 6A State Championship. She was named to the 2015 Under Armour Watch List as well as the Senior Aces List.
"Emily brings a good work ethic, a good mind set and a competitive spirit to the court," McRoberts said. "She'll be another player on the outside that will make us better."
Engelken earned First Team all EKL and Second Team All-State honors in 2014.
As member of Kansas City Power Volleyball Club, Engelken helped them place fifth in the USA 17 Open Nationals and ninth in the USA 16 Open Nationals.
Off the court, Engelken earned All-Academic First team honors all four years and is a member of the National Honor Society.
