OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss volleyball added one of the top players in the nation in Texas native Jordan Fate, head coach Steven McRoberts announced Thursday, as part of a six-member signing class.
Fate was recently named an AVCA Under Armour Honorable Mention All-American. She received the Outstanding Setter in the PSA Circle of Championships Tournament this year and was part of the Texas Volleyball Invitational All-Tournament Team. Fate and her teammates at Lovejoy High School are currently still playing, seeking to defend their 5A state title from a year ago.
"Jordan has great leadership qualities and we love her competitiveness," McRoberts said. "She really gets after it on the floor on defense. She's somebody that we think can come in right away and push Aubrey Edie. Jordan has won at every level."
Fate was named to the 2015 PrepVolleyball Preseason All-American Watch List after being named a PrepVolleyball High School All American in 2014.
As a junior last year, Fate helped lead her team to the state title and was named MVP of the tournament. She was named Texas Sportswriters Association All-State 5A Player of the Year and 5A First Team Setter. The Texas Girls Coaches Association also named Fate to their All-State Team in 2014.
Playing for Texas Advantage Volleyball Club, Fate helped her team to the silver medal at the Junior National 16 Open in 2014. Fate has played in junior nationals six straight years, including leading Victory Club to a Bronze Medal in 2013.
Off the court, Fate earned Academic All-District honors in 2013 and 2014.
