Ole Miss' Orvis Named Preseason First Team All-SEC

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss senior first baseman Sikes Orvis has been named to the 2015 Southeastern Conference baseball coaches preseason All-SEC First Team, the league announced Thursday morning.

The senior from Orlando gained First Team All-SEC honors after the 2014 season. Orvis returns for his fourth season with the Rebels after finishing last year with a .294 batting average, 14 homers, 53 RBI and 40 runs scored. While helping the team to the College World Series Orvis hit for an average of .305 with six runs scored and nine RBI during the Rebels' NCAA Tournament run.

Orvis and the Rebels take the field and begin the 2015 campaign this weekend against William and Mary. Friday's first pitch is set for 4p.m. CT at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze field.
