OXFORD, Miss. - Day two of the Great American Rifle Conference Championships (GARC) Saturday, crowned the individual and team smallbore champions and saw Ole Miss freshman Jessica Haig (Constableville, N.Y.) post a career-best at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center.
Haig fired a 579, including a perfect 100 string in kneeling. She bested her previous career-high by six shots, and missed the finals by two spots, finishing 10th.
Sophomore Alison Weisz, who qualified for the NCAA Championships in smallbore, shot a 572 as the Rebels finished the day with their second best smallbore score of the season at 2282.
"The girls did a great job today," head coach Valerie Boothe said. "We got a personal best out of Jessica, and it was our second best smallbore of the season. We are looking forward to closing out the tournament with air tomorrow."
