OPELIKA, Ala. - Senior Blake Morris fired an impressive 3-under par 69 in the final round to help power the Ole Miss men's golf team up the leaderboard in the final round of the Tiger Invitational hosted by Auburn University at the Grand National Lake Course.

Morris, who finished in 18th place, carded four-straight birdies on the back nine. The Waterbury, Connecticut, native finished with a three-round score of 1-over par 217.

"I am extremely proud of the way that's our guys responded today and crawled back up the leaderboard," Ole Miss head coach Chris Malloy said. "That's what champions do. I know that yesterday was disappointing, but I challenged these guys last night and they responded. That's what you like to see as you get closer to the postseason. Blake showed a lot today with four birdies in a row on the back nine. He is coming into form nicely."

Junior Forrest Gamble and sophomore Ben Wolcott finished in a tie for 22nd place with three-round scores of 3-over par 219, firing a 1-under 71 and even par 72 in the third round, respectively.

The Rebels, who began the day in 10th place, fired the second-lowest team score in round three with a 3-under 285. Ole Miss finished in a tie for fifth place with Kansas State and VCU. The host Tigers took home the tournament crown with a three-round score of 25-under 839.

Sophomore Noah West, who competed as an individual, tied for 55th place with a three-round score of 13-over 229. Freshman Josh Seiple posted a 15-over 231 and tied for 65th place. Senior Joe Lewis fired a 1-over par 73 in round three and tied for 76th place.

Ole Miss will return to action March 20 at the Chris Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Georgia.
