Morris Sparks Rebels on Day Two in Cabo

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico - On the strength of four birdies, senior Blake Morris fired a 1-under par 70 to lead the Ole Miss men's golf team in the second round of the Querencia Cabo Collegiate Tuesday.
Morris, a native of Waterbury, Connecticut, is tied for 14th place with a two round score of even-par 142. With a chance to move up the leaderboard in tomorrow's third and final round, he is in contention for his third top-10 finish in a row.
Sophomore Ben Wolcott carded a two-round score of 70-73--173. The Dickson, Tennessee, native fired five birdies, en route to an 17th-place finish in the second round.
"Today was similar to yesterday for our guys," Ole Miss head coach Chris Malloy said. "We just had too many unforced errors that held us back from a great round. This group is close to putting it together and posting a low team score. Blake had a solid round and is continuing to lead our team."
The Rebels are tied for eighth place with No. 9 Baylor and Kentucky, each firing a two-round score of 10-over 578. No. 12 South Florida currently sits atop the leaderboard with a two-round score of 9-under 559.
Freshman Josh Seiple posted a 3-over par 74 on day two and is tied for 49th place. Junior Forrest Gamble is tied for 59th, while sophomore Noah West is tied for 65th place.
The third and final round of the Querencia Cabo Collegiate will tee off tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. CT.
